What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology means the study of movement and is pronounced
"Kin-easy-ology".
Kinesiology is a healing science and a natural therapy that is non-invasive, is drug free and gentle. Kinesiology utilizes muscle testing and acupressure points to identify where sub conscious stress and negative belief patterns has led to energy blockages, and therefore imbalanced the body's systems.
Imbalances in our systems show up as anxiety, poor self esteem, learning difficulties and repetition of problem behavior. If we ignore these signs of imbalance it can lead to physical concerns, such as pain, tension, stress, or / and immune, hormonal and digestive problems.
Kinesiology gives our structural, mental, emotional, hormonal and spiritual system a complete tune-up.
History of Kinesiology
Kinesiology was developed by Dr George Goodheart DC, in the 1960s. He began to use muscle testing to evaluate muscle function, posture and general body imbalances. Dr Goodheart drew together a group of curious minds and between them they researched and expanded on his findings. One of these brilliant minds was another Chiropractor, John Thie D.C., with wonderful humanitarian insight, systemised Kinesiology for the lay person. Dr. John Thie realised the importance of sharing these very effective methods with the general public.
Kinesiology is an outstanding health care modality studied and researched around the world. Some of these wonderful researchers include Dr Charles Krebs author of A Revolutionary Way Of Thinking and creator of LEAP the Brain Integration Program that has changed many people’s lives by disclosing the real cause of specific learning difficulties, Dr Carl Ferreri, another Chiropractor, who studied Applied Kinesiology and saw in it an opportunity to explore the wonders of the human body in all its intricacies. He went on to develop NOT Neural Organisation Technique in 1979. He presented his work throughout the United States, England, Europe, Australia and South America. He is the author of several books, including "Breakthrough for Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities", "Philosophical and Technique Manuals on Basic Neural Organization Technique Protocols", "Scoliosis", "Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities", "Endocrine, Circulatory and Cardiac Stress" problems and "Extremity Techniques". Not to forget Nicolie O’Neill who along with her expert team is teaching Kinesiology here in Perth, bringing together the different Kinesiology modalities and teaching them in one program. Nicolie was also involved in introducing the kinesiology diploma to Perth.
Kinesiology has been taught to millions of people the world over, in many languages. The techniques of Kinesiology has transformed into a range of modalities from Chiropractics, Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Physiotherapy, Naturopathy, Nutrition and counseling. All this enables a well-educated Professional Kinesiology Practitioner to truly work in an effective holistic manner.
One of the greatest virtues of Kinesiology is its versatility. Its concepts and techniques can be applied almost anywhere at any time. They can be expanded upon and developed to suit individual tastes or needs and can be used on oneself, within the family or in the professional situation.
